Week 11. Lecture – New Media Landscape
Lionel Chin from Ripplewerkz come to give us a talk today. It is his first time talking to so many people.But he did put in his effort as he wrote down in his notebook on what he must talk to us about.I think he did a very good job in talking to us and tried his very best in answering all the question we asked him.
5 key points the Speaker had mentioned during his presentation.
1)the past website and the new website
2)blog can help to advertise and match making and lots of things
3)reality of the working world is not as easy as we think,even if the ideas we come out have been rejected we need to work on other ideas for the boss or client
4)being a freelancer is not that easy as freelancer sometimes may need to work with other freelancer which sometimes may have problem
5)portfolio is very important.keeping all the work u have done and showing it to your employer will have a higher chances of getting the work
Things he inspired me was that when he is around our age,he already become a freelancer to help people build website furthermore by seeing the website he created really impress me.He was a student like us too and he can make a good website like that which have a lot of viewers each and everday.He is also the co-founder of Ripplewerkz which means he is one of the boss.Being at his age and able to start-up a business is very capable.
I think its useful to have a guest speaker to share their expertise, experience and “Tips & Tricks” of the trade.I have learn quite a lot this lecture.The things he shared with us is his own experiences of what he have been through to he is now.
